Love The Greyscale Everything

This series investigates the intersection of architectural heritage and atmospheric transition, inspired by the shift in light and environment following my emigration from Canada to the UK. Each piece begins with a structural foundation influenced by the local geology and building stones of Cornwall, which is gradually transformed through the muted yet luminous tones found in the works of Picasso, Giotto, and Brice Marden. These works aim to capture a sense of local distinctiveness and Zen minimalism, exploring how layered acrylics on Perspex can give the heavy history of a landscape a deep, resonant, and physical presence.
